Title: Planning Session -- what happened?
Post by: byrocat on February 17, 2017, 11:51:44 pm
We probably could have had a round-table session up in the mezzanine if the room wasn't available.

Was down on my list for tomorrow.

Hi byrocat:

The email notice included an RSVP request that was not replied to by any current members. When you are arranging a fairly impromptu session like that, some notice had to be given to Coppa's for the need of their meeting room, hence it was not a good idea to just show up, unannounced and ask for the use of the room. As it now turns out, I cannot attend much this weekend as a relative is in serious condition in the hospital. See you at the AGM.

Sorry to hear about the family crisis -- best wishes and prayers for a speedy recovery.

Re the invite.... all I can say is whoops!  I'd seen the website announcement first and did not catch the RSVP requirement.  I wonder how many others did the same thing.

I'm wondering if the notification for things like this could be sent out as Outlook or similar calendar appointments?  Hitting the Accept button will give you a indication of the number of people who read it. Just a general comment and a non-binding suggestion.

One question that I had planned on asking is: are there any statistics on the number of people participating in the various aspects of the club and the relationship of the coverage of the expenses related to that aspect?  IIRC, the basic rule that was being bandied about was that each would be self-supporting -- the user-pay paradigm.

Not something that has be discussed to be discussed here but can be answered at the AGM, and would indicate where we could apply more attention or development.
