John Werner's Macchi MC72 (sorta)
« on: October 02, 2005, 07:24:05 pm »
I've been saving a set of plans from Aviation Modeler  of a stand off Macchi72 racer for about ten years. The original plans were for a 60-90 cc engine. It had a span of 60" . I reduced the plans to a 46"span and I plan to use an Astro 05G or 035G . Past experience has shown me that brushed systems are pretty bullet proof when it comes to dunking . The only problem I encountered was from rust forming in the motor .
The plane is built up  balsa construction. I may modify that with some foam bits but I plan to stay pretty close to the simplified plan.

Way to go John. That makes about 10 potential pilots.

Thanks Martin, very gracious of you.
Sorry about the duplication but I'm sure the similarity will  be in name only.

If we get 10 planes, they won't all be in the air at the same time. Heck, if we get 5 planes, they won't be in the air all at the same time!
