First Flight 2019
« on: January 05, 2019, 07:42:54 pm »
I am not sure if we were the first flights of the year but Nick and I went to the field at 1:00 PM today for a few flights with the Timber and Habu. We should have gone a few hours later as the sun had come out. The wet snow was sticking to the tires of the Timber but there was enough green only field  at the far side to avoid it.

Congratulations Brad and Nick on the "First Flight of 2019" at Crosswinds Field. The day was fantastic, light wind, above freezing and later in the afternoon some blue sky.

Also on January 5, 2019... The Aeronca Champ S+ completed a successful maiden flight. Isaac was at the controls and I did the hand launch. The image below was captured with a Lumix GH3.

Hi:

It was a very nice afternoon (a bit chilly) for flying and we all got our fill of flights. The Heli-Baby flew like a champion, the Cessna 150 became the aircraft I wanted after removing flap/elevator mixing, and the E-Glider gave me the most exciting flight I have had in years, whew. I missed you by a few minutes, Brad. I'll see if next weekend is going to be flight worthy and hope to get the E-Glider back in the air with a new prop. Take care.
